On behalf of the women and men of the Methuen Police Department, I thank you for visiting our website. I am honored to have been chosen to lead this department in October 2021. I want to point out and acknowledge first and foremost the tremendous efforts of the women and men of the Methuen Police Department. My first year as Methuen's Chief of Police has been one of awe and appreciation for the resolve demonstrated by this talented group of professionals.

The Methuen Police Department is a professional police organization and we are committed to continually assessing the needs of those we serve by evaluating policies, procedures, and our transparency to best serve this community. Each day, the men and women of the Methuen Police Department strive to prevent crime, protect lives and property, preserve the peace and order of the community, and build positive relationships with the community we serve. Meeting this mission takes a lot of hard work, ethical policing practices, customer service, and great community policing partnerships, and we strive daily to meet this mission.

Our officers are working to build trust in our community and work cooperatively for positive relationships between police officers and the people we serve. We understand and are working hard to ensure a solid community partnership with police is the most effective way of securing our communities and making them safer for all of us.

For organizational purposes, the department is divided into two Bureaus: Field Operations Bureau, which encompasses the Uniformed Patrol Division, Community Outreach Division, Traffic Services, and School Services. The second bureau is the Special Services Bureau which encompasses the Administrative Services Division and the Criminal Investigations Division The two bureaus are led by a Captain who responds directly to the Deputy Chief of Police.
