Administrative Division
The Methuen Police Department’s Administrative Division's function is to allow for the management of Methuen Police Department Rules and Regulations. The Administrative Division Commander is also the Department's grant manager and writer.

Criminal Investigations Bureau
The Methuen Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau is comprised of dedicated investigators who provide the highest quality criminal investigation support to the Methuen Police Department. They do this by utilizing investigative and forensic equipment and techniques while conducting systematic and methodical investigations.

Training
The Training Unit plans, coordinates, and implements training programs to prepare Department Officers to effectively handle the realities of police work by promoting the skills, knowledge, professional attitude, and high sense of duty necessary to the police profession.

Social Media Team
The Methuen Police Department’s Social Media Team is spearheaded by Lieutenant Christian Max, Sergeant James Moore, and two Social Media Officers (SMOs). In addition, are a handful of dedicated and creative officers who Tweet activity and events on behalf of the department.

Records Division
The Records Division’s main responsibilities are to securely store, retrieve, distribute, and dispose of police reports. Police reports consist of investigation reports, property reports, supplement reports, vehicular accidents, arrests, and miscellaneous incident reports. All reports are assigned a "case number" and are maintained numerically.

Payroll Clerk
The Payroll Clerk is a civilian position that functions under the direct supervision of the Support Services Unit Supervisor. In addition to maintaining certain financial records, this position shall be assigned the correction, maintenance, and calculations of all outside details.

National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Unit
The National IncidentBased Reporting System (NIBRS) is an incident-based reporting system for crimes known to the police. For each crime incident coming to the attention of law enforcement, a variety of data are collected about the incident.

Firearms Licensing Officer
The Licensing officer is responsible for processing various State and City license applications. The licensing officer will schedule appointments with applicants and do follow-up investigations related to these applications.

Evidence Officer
The Evidence officer is responsible for processing, preserving, and arranging for the examination of evidence gathered by Officers conducting investigations.

Crime Analysis Director
Under the supervision of the Support Services Unit Supervisor, the Crime and Traffic Analyst is responsible for collecting, collating, analyzing, and disseminating information through crime analysis.
