Animal Control Unit

The Animal Control Unit enforces City ordinances and tasks related to the care, control, and licensing of animals. The Animal Control Officer answers calls and complaints, conducts investigations, gathers information, and issues ordinances for violations of animal regulations.

Parking Control Unit

The parking enforcement division is responsible for the enforcement of the municipal and state parking regulations, and local ordinance referring to snow emergencies. The Parking Control Officer responds to complaints about parking violations; determines and issues parking violations against local and state regulations.

C.A.R.E.S (Community Addiction Resource Engagement Services) (PDF)

In response to the Public Health Epidemic of opiate abuse and overdose, the Office of the Mayor and the Methuen Police Department are prepared to address the multidimensional effects that substance abuse has on families and the community. Methuen Police Department’s C.A.R.E.S Initiative began in October 2015. Our Community Engagement Specialists are trained to work with multiple populations as addiction does not discriminate.

School Services

The Methuen Police Department School Services Unit is supervised by Sergeant Walter Fleming. Through education and enforcement, this unit focuses on youth-related issues affecting the city of Methuen.
