The City of Methuen Department of Public Works will start the Lowell Street Drainage Improvement Project at the end of May 2025. The project was funded through the American Rescue Plan Act and has already been awarded to a contractor, Aqua Line Utility, Inc. of Weymouth Mass.
The Project involves the construction of a new drainage system from Lowell Street to an outlet near the intersection of East Capitol Street and Marc Avenue and has been designed to alleviate flooding on Lowell Street and the contributing areas. The attached plan shows the limits of the project.
Abutters to the project will receive additional notifications as the project progresses. Normal disruptions associated with construction projects can be expected but the City and the Contractor will make every effort to keep them to a minimum. Any disturbances within the associated rights-of way will be returned to new condition.
