Description:

The City of Methuen is seeking responses from qualified historic preservation consultants to undertake the “Searles Estate Historic District – National Register of Historic Places Nomination.” Responses must be received at the Office of City Clerk, Searles Building/City Hall. 41 Pleasant St., Methuen, MA 01844, on or before 12 pm Noon Wednesday, January 28th, 2026.   

The City of Methuen will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible vendor whose offer meets the stated requirements for project experience, sample products, qualifications, project approach, and client references, and the lowest price. 

 The Request for Quotations (RFQ), containing scope of work, vendor qualifications and response requirements will be available after 8 A.M., Tuesday, December 30th, 2025 via download at www.methuen.gov/purchasing. All potential proposers must be registered for this procurement through this link.

Further,  the vendor’s response must demonstrate experience in providing services related to the City’s requirements as specified in this solicitation scope of work, specifically in successful completion of comparable projects (five or more), and prior experience with municipally, privately, or Massachusetts Historical Commission-funded not-to-exceed or fixed-fee contracts.

Qualifications:
Vendors must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, History, Art History or a closely related field, and at least five years full-time experience in an area relevant to the project; OR a Master’s Degree in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, History, Art History or a closely related field, and at least three years full-time experience in an area relevant to the project.
