Public Works
The Department of Public Works consists of nine divisions: Management, Engineering, Building Maintenance, Environmental Management, Equipment Maintenance, Highway, Water Distribution, Water Maintenance, and Sewer Maintenance. The Methuen Transfer Station/Landfill is located on Huntington Avenue.
2025 Eversource Methuen-Lawrence Projects
In 2025, Eversource will be performing several natural gas main replacement projects in your community, including your neighborhood. This work is part of Eversource’s program to replace older cast iron and bare steel gas mains with new, state-of-the-art plastic piping. This work improves system safety and reliability while helping to reduce emissions. Work is scheduled to start in January and is anticipated to continue throughout the remainder of 2025.
